No Pat On My Back

Today’s writing challenge is to tell someone that I’m proud of how proud I am.

Well.

I’m so frickin’ proud!

I want to shout it out loud!

Not only that; that’s way too pat,

I’m awfully proud that I’m proud!

Yes!

I’m so proud of myself that it makes me proud!

Why?

Maybe I’m proud of the effort pride takes?

Am I proud of the sound the word makes?

I don’t have the answer ’cause I’m in a cloud,

I’m totally, insanely, doubly pride-endowed.

And why stop there? I feel a pride coming on

Of my pride of being proud and I could go on.

But I won’t.

No, I’m proud to say that I’m saying nay

To this terribly silly challenge today!
