Judging by the news coverage, you’d think that the biggest worries related to the freezing winds this Thanksgiving are the flight delays and the possible lack of giant balloons at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
But we know better.
If you come across any old sleeping bags or camping mats you no longer need, tomorrow, when you’re rummaging through your garage in search of Christmas lights, put them in your car and give them to the first homeless people you see. The sleeping bags, not the lights.
If you live near me, you can also drop items off at my house. I go downtown pretty much every day, and I know a bunch of guys who would be very happy with some winter stuff.
Remember, prayers for those less fortunate are nice, but sleeping bags and warm socks are better!
